YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
I'M NOT FLEXIBLE ENOUGH, I DON'T THINK I CAN DO YOGA
There is often a common misconception that yoga is only accessible if you are already flexible
The truth is yoga is for everyone!
I had to start somewhere & I was not flexible when I started, but over time & with regular practice, your flexibility, mobility & co-ordination will actually improve, benefiting your body while also preventing/relieving chronic pains

I'M WORRIED OTHER STUDENTS ARE "BETTER" THAN ME
Yoga can seem a little intimidating to a new student. Learning poses or worrying about doing something wrong, or that other students have a more advanced practice
But yoga is not a competitive sport. Yoga is your own unique journey, we are all built differently, which is beautiful! I always endeavour to make students (new or practiced) feel comfortable, & to listen to their own body's limits. I suggest if you're nervous, why not try some yoga classes available for free on my YouTube channel by clicking here, & start to become familiar with the terms
I also suggest a one on one class together so all attention is on you & we can talk together in a safe space before, during & after the class
YOGA IS FOR WOMEN, I DON'T THINK I'LL LIKE IT
It is correct that most marketing for yoga is female dominated, & this is a shame! It can be intimidating as a male or other sexual identity to take up yoga because they may feel like they will be the only one
But thankfully more & more men are taking up yoga, which is great! There are men only classes & even men only retreats & it is a really beautiful way for men to express themselves & their emotions. Originally yoga was only permitted for men in times gone by, however now it is & should be accessible to everyone. I join many other teachers in ensuring all members of society can access & benefit from the beautiful gift of yoga
We can schedule a chat/videocall or a 121 class if you would feel more comfortable in a more personal environment
DO I NEED SPECIAL EQUIPMENT FOR YOGA?
No not at all! But a mat is recommended to protect your knees & body on the ground but yoga can also be practiced on a towel or sheet! There are sometimes "props" used like blocks or bolsters but these are not necessary to practice
YOGA IS TOO SPIRITUAL/RELIGIOUS, IT DOESN'T SUIT ME OR ALIGN WITH MY BELIEFS
The history of yoga goes back thousands of years & has been influenced by the teachings from Hinduism, Buddhism & Jainism. However yoga itself is not a religion. It is more a Philosophy that promotes healthy lifestyle, taking care of mind & body & living in harmonious existence
Through regular practice & encompassing yogic values in your way of life, a spiritual journey may naturally unravel as you feel more connected to yourself, your surroundings or your God

WHAT IS MEDITATION?
The definition from Google is a concise explaination:
Meditation is a practice in which an individual uses a technique to train attention & awareness, achieving a mentally clear & emotionally calm & stable state
The "technique" it refers to can be an endless list. One can focus the mind on an object, a thought, the breath or an activity
Yoga itself is a meditation. Your body & mind is so focused on co-ordination, balance, breath & thinking what to do next; that you are completely present & aware of yourself & your body on the mat.
Meditation can also be reading a book, playing an instrument, writing, painting etc! All these activities require your focus, presence & attention.
