i broke bread with the christian, & i felt the forgiveness of christ
i kneeled with the muslim, & i was humbled by the prophet.
i read scriptures with the jew, & i drew strength from their hardships.
i danced with the hindu, & i was lifted by the devas & twirled by the devis.
i walked with the buddhist, & i saw the wisdom of the enlightened.
i shook hands with the sikh, & we laughed like brothers.
i sought the knowledge of the sufis, & i realised i knew all along.
i sang with the elders, & i felt my feet pierce the earth like roots.
i stargazed with the atheist, & i tried to understand what they saw before them.
but i did not feel love until i stopped trying to name it,
now i bathe in the source of the light itself;
& feel it in the space between each breath.
wordless, shapeless, formless;
in me & in you;
forever guided, forever held.
